Meagan and Andy’s Marvelous Mint-Colored Wedding
Andrea Krout Photography

On June 22, 2019, Meagan Kenny and Andy Beno arrived at Radnor Hunt ready to begin their lives together as husband and wife. It was a warm day with clear blue skies—perfect weather for a summer ceremony and reception.

Dressed to the Nines

Meagan and Andy’s wedding palette showcased mint and bright blue tones, which were best represented by the wedding party. Bridesmaids wore long, mint gowns with a variety of necklines, while the groomsmen opted for bright blue suits. Even Andy was decked out in blue, wearing a suit with a blue vest and blue floral tie. Meagan, of course, stood out in her stunning white gown covered in delicate lace and a chapel-length train that flowed elegantly behind her.

An Open-Air Ceremony

As guests began to arrive, they were welcomed into our outdoor ceremony space: a stately tree out on the venue’s lush grounds. Rows of chairs were arranged in front of the tree, and the aisle was decorated with wine barrels and lanterns. It was here that Meagan and Andy came together to say their vows.

The ceremony was an elegant affair. Two flower girls scattered rose petals down the aisle (and looked absolutely adorable doing it). Meagan’s father walked her down the aisle, and finally, our bride and groom exchanged words of love and commitment. There was hardly a dry eye!

Appetizers and Acoustic Guitars

After the ceremony, guests moved to the patio for the cocktail hour. A live guitarist set the mood while friends and family enjoyed signature drinks like a spicy margarita known as a “(Bumble)Bee-Sting.” The bride’s signature drink was a delectable Dark and Stormy, while the groom sipped on a Dark and Stormy Manhattan.

Delicious hors d’oeuvres, provided by our exclusive catering partner, J. Scott Catering, included:

  • Karaage chicken bites with teriyaki sauce
  • Thai shrimp spring rolls with lemongrass and cilantro
  • Chorizo and grilled pepper with red wine and honey
  • Mini California burgers with jalapeño, avocado & cheddar
  • Caponata-stuffed cherry tomatoes
  • Seared tuna with wasabi cream on a sesame seed cracker

Passed hors d’oeuvres weren’t the only treats to munch on! J. Scott Catering also provided a delicious charcuterie plate, which included international and domestic cheeses, grilled flatbreads, crostini, grain mustard, mixed olives, pickled raisin chutney, roasted Marcona almonds and dried fruits. By the time the ballroom opened for the reception, all the guests had fully whetted their appetites.

Dine and Dance the Night Away

The ballroom was decorated in the wedding’s color palette, with aqua and ivory linens on the tables. Once guests settled into their seats, the DJ introduced each member of the bridal party. Then, he introduced Meagan and Andy, who instantly took to the dance floor for their first dance.

After heartfelt blessings and a few epic dance moves, it was time to enjoy the wedding feast. The meal started out with a wild arugula salad, which included grilled peach, toasted walnut, grilled red onion, shaved parmesan and a lemon balsamic vinaigrette. The main course included a variety of delicious entrees:

  • Pear and sage-stuffed chicken breast with roasted garlic butter and lemon chicken jus
  • Pan-seared beef filet with a rosemary merlot demi
  • Butternut squash and goat cheese risotto

The kids in attendance enjoyed a tasty mac and cheese.

A Sweet Send-Off

After the meal, most guests hit the dance floor to celebrate the happy couple. But of course, dinner wasn’t quite over yet; the Master’s Baker provided a delicious cake, complete with layers of almond with raspberry filling and pink champagne with strawberry buttercream. Everyone enjoyed this sweet dessert and continued to dance and mingle. Others made their way outside to the fire pits for some quiet conversation and relaxation.

I got married at Radnor Hunt in July and it was exceptional. My family and I had looked a few venues before Radnor, but once we were there, we all were blown away by the landscape. We worked with Amy through J Scott Catering, and they made everything so easy for us. Leading up to the wedding, they were so organized that it took a lot of pressure off of me!
